SkyDox Wins 2012 Cloud Award For Web Services Excellence
Company Recognized for Offering Exceptional Cloud-Enabled Collaboration Service

LONDON, ENGLAND, January 12, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- SkyDox, a leading provider of a cloud-enabled file sharing and collaboration platform for cross-functional and distributed teams, has been awarded top honors for its collaboration suite in The Cloud Awards - Web Services Excellence category.

The annual cloud computing awards program, open internationally across the U.S. and EMEA regions, recognizes and celebrates industry leaders and pioneers in the field of cloud computing. This year marks the award's inaugural program.

SkyDox was selected as a winner, in part, because unlike competitive cloud collaboration solutions, SkyDox's technology has been designed from the ground-up as an enterprise-grade platform with enhanced security features, administration-rights and compatibility with a range of popular Enterprise Content Management and productivity applications, including Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, FileNet, Documentum and Lotus Notes. This enables users to continue to work with familiar tools, while enjoying the benefits of cloud-enabled collaboration and ensuring that the organization is able to fulfill compliance mandates and users adhere to internal data security measures and policies.

In doing this, SkyDox is modernizing the workplace by providing new and unique functions, like the ability for distributed teams to collaborate securely and seamlessly beyond the corporate firewall and allowing its users to integrate social business tools to legacy applications. SkyDox has already been adopted by a large number of companies across a number of vertical sectors ranging from media and marketing agencies to financial institutions and government in the U.S., Europe and Asia. SkyDox works with any Mac, Windows and Linux device and can be accessed on any browser-enabled mobile device.

"The need to support a proliferation of mobile devices and file formats together with the fact that the workforce is increasingly distributed, and in some cases mobile, means that IT departments are challenged with spiraling costs associated with supporting an increasingly complex environment," said Barrie Hadfield, SkyDox co-founder and Chief Technical Officer. "SkyDox provides a single, highly secure platform that incorporates the most popular file sharing, collaboration and social business allowing enterprise users to enhance their productivity tools and content management applications with Web 2.0 collaboration technologies."

"Almost 200 organizations entered the program, which is among the first of its kind. We were swamped by entries, and the standard was remarkably high. Judging the submissions was a challenging task. But we're happy to endorse SkyDox as among the best of the best in their field," said Larry Johnson, Cloud Awards organizer.
