Greater Mobility With the New Version of SM1 Touch by XTEL Thanks to HTML5
The 2012 version of the suite will be capable of operating on various mobile devices

BOLOGNA, ITALY, October 27, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- XTEL unveils a new ace up its sleeve: the European vendor, for years recognized by different analysts as a point of reference for sales process automation solutions geared toward the CPG market, is preparing a new version of its suite of products for mobile devices, which will stand alongside the Silverlight version presented to the public in June during the celebrations of the company's 20th anniversary.

The new solution has been developed using HTML5, a markup language that enables latest generation web applications to be created with the presentation of multimedia content and a high level of interactivity with users.

"This choice - explains Marco Marchesi, R&D Manager of XTEL - was essential in order to provide customers with a solution that was not tied to only one type of mobile device: the functionalities of the Sales Master One suite will now be available irrespective of the device used, whether an Apple product, like an Ipad or Iphone, an Android tablet or Smartphone, or a notebook and tablets with the MS Windows operating system. We can thus meet customers' needs while offering them great flexibility in the choice of hardware".

Like the current version of Sales Master One, Sales Master One Touch will enable users to work online when a wireless/3G connection is available and switch into the offline mode (and work with cache data) whenever there is no available connection. When the connection is restored, the solution will automatically synchronize the data, thus guaranteeing continuity and precision in the exchange of information. This is made possible by exploiting two characteristics of HTML5: "Offline Applications" creates a copy of the web application on the mobile device and keeps it automatically updated, while "Web Storage" enables the application to save the data (the cache used when the application is offline) in the mobile device.

In addition, since it is a web application, with SM1 Touch the distribution of the application itself will be simplified and faster: it will be sufficient to publish the application on an intranet or extranet site, without there being any obligation to publish it through Android Market or App Store.
